Dandenong Ranges

The Dandenong Ranges has an amazing array of outstanding flora, winding roads with soaring trees and wonderful valley views. It's arguably Melbourne’s favourite destination with its popular old steam train attraction, the famous "Puffing Billy”. The steam train railway was constructed at the start of the 1900’s and now meanders across tall forests and green vegetation through the small towns of Belgrave, Menzies Creek, Emerald, Cockatoo and Gembrook. Magnificent houses with extensive gardens, antique shops, 'Swiss Chalet' type restaurants and reception venues are some of the well-known attractions but nowadays we include "day spas" and "wellness centres" to rejuvenate and pamper. Only an hour's drive to the east of Melbourne's CBD, the Dandenong Ranges are within perfect reach of a mid-week romantic getaway or perhaps a self-indulgent weekend in the hills.
