Property Description: The residential streets of Richmond are filled with beautiful early Victorian period homes, occasionally large, but often in rows of single fronted terrace houses. This one is somewhere in the middle; a fine free-standing home on a corner allotment, with a classic wrought iron front fence and verandah lacework, bull nose verandah roof and a projecting bay room on one side. A formal front garden enhances the traditional facade. A sympathetic, modern two storey extension has been added to the rear of the house, significantly expanding the amenities of the home. A spacious rear courtyard and secure off-street parking are further advantages of this particular site.
The home is furnished with an interesting balance of rich antique pieces, other comparatively understated furniture and a diverse private art collection.
The two guest suites are quite different from each other. One occupies the front of the house with the main bedroom enjoying the bay window overlooking the front garden. A second double or twin bedroom across the hall is available as part of the suite if desired. The suite's sitting room (pictured below) has a traditional atmosphere with a gas log fire in a period-style fireplace, and two luxurious sofas.
The other guest suite is located upstairs at the rear of the house. The bedroom has an adjoining sitting room which can sleep an extra two persons if needed. This suite is connected to a private rooftop terrace which affords spectacular city views in the evening.
|
Special Features: A traditional cooked breakfast is served in the dining room or the rear courtyard, weather permitting.
Local dining and shopping is a great advantage of the location. Famous Victoria Street is 600 metres to the north, with a fantastic selection of authentic Vietnamese restaurants. Bridge Road is 300 metres to the south, full of exciting shopping possibilities.
