The exterior walls of Araluen are constructed of locally quarried stone, giving it a very distinctive mountain lodge character. This is enhanced with soaring timber lined ceilings and beams in almost every room.

On entering the lodge, the foyer area flows through to a guest lounge with a wood fire set in front of a feature stone wall and surrounded by comfortable couches. Across from the lounge is the guest dining room with individual table settings where breakfast is served. A curved wall of large picture windows overlooks the gardens and countryside bathed in the morning light. Behind this section of the lodge is a dedicated wing where the guest bedrooms are located.
