	Only two hours from Melbourne you can experience peace and privacy in a beautiful rural haven at Athlone Country Cottages. Fresh country air, fish in the rivers and lakes all around, Lake Eildon National Park nearby, and the High Country snowfields are within easy driving distance. Either Cottage is perfectly suitable for two couples or a small family getaway and just as good for one couple with room to spare. While the Studio is wonderfully secluded and especially romantic. Whatever you choose and however you spend your time here, you can't help but be seduced by the beauty of the setting.

Property Description:
Picturesque countryside embraces this quiet valley. The rolling pasture is studded with trees and streams wander through the hills. Lakes nestle in the landscape, reflecting the sky, here on the 300-acre piece of Victoria.

There are two styles of cottage. The Studio (pictured at bottom) is the newest addition, designed especially as a stylish and intimate getaway for two. It is located on its own with sweeping views across the valley. The bed and living area are together in one main room that is furnished with a contemporary sophistication and light, natural colours. The exterior and parts of the interior make fashionable use of corrugated iron.

The two-bedroom Cottages (pictured above & right) have wonderful lake views. Privacy between the cottages is afforded by the leafy gardens in which they nestle and a double carport between. The bedrooms are generous in size and the open plan living and dining area is also very spacious with airy, pitched ceilings. These cottages, while modern in many respects, have a more country-style personality to the interior furnishings.

Recreational Facilities:
Guests can make use of a tennis court and in-ground pool on the property.
Enthusiasts can do a little fly-fishing on the well-stocked private lake and for those wanting to learn fly-fishing, there are local experts who can offer tuition.

Description of Rooms/Units:
The Cottages have two bedrooms and each one of these has a king-size bed which can be re-configured into twin beds according to guests' requirements. The beds are made up with quality linen.

The Cottages and The Studio all have full kitchen facilities including stovetop, regular oven and microwave oven, full size fridge and all the essential kitchenware for preparing meals. The Studio has its own barbecue while The Cottages have one between them.

The living areas feature gas log fires, reverse cycle air-conditioning, television, DVD, video and CD players.

Breakfast: The tariff is inclusive of full country breakfast provisions for each morning with bacon, home-grown eggs, an assortment of local breads and homemade jams, fruit, cereals, juices, ground coffee and teas.

Dining Options: The Cottages and The Studio have full kitchen facilities for self catering. Alexandra has several pubs with good bar facilities and there are several excellent restaurants nearby.
