Property Description:
This remarkable property, known locally as the Stirling Estate, can be found at the top of Ranch Road. At the entrance a high stone wall encloses the estate's olive grove and a long winding private road, lined with Plane trees, leads up to the ridge of the property. Mt Bogong and the Alps loom large across the valley. Spread out along the estate's ridge are two European-style chalets, designed for couples, and on the southern side of the property is the estate's main villa which can accommodate an intimate group of friends (or just one couple).
Birches Luxury Spa Chalets are so named for the adjacent, picturesque stands of white birch trees, under planted with thousands of bulbs. Each chalet has a large elevated verandah with 180 degree mountain views. French doors and double glazing also feature in the architect designed buildings, while inside the decor is a subtle blend of modern elegance and country classic furniture with notable artworks and quality detailing. Both chalets have a double spa with magnificent mountain views.
Nestled amidst beautiful gardens of roses and winding paths, "Stirling Spa Villa" is a solid, gracious home with three bedrooms. Traditional styling replicates a world of European finery, from full drapes, antique furniture, original works of art, and rich leather chesterfields beside an open fire, to the formal dining setting with precious crystal, fine china and silverware. Large windows overlook the gardens against a backdrop of panoramic mountain views. A double spa is a focal point of the central bathroom. The kitchen is equipped to the hilt should any guests wish do their own catering rather than choose to have the estate's fully catered, silver service option.
The grounds of the estate include a cornucopia of productive orchards and livestock. There are grape vines, berries, olive trees and orchards of citrus, apples, cherries, plums and walnuts. Wandering among the groves are alpacas, South Suffolk sheep, geese and poultry, with early morning and evening visits by wildlife, and native birds throughout the day. Guests are welcome to wander the grounds and taste any berry, grape, fruit or nut that may be in season.

The sumptuous atmosphere of "Stirling Spa Villa" is the perfect setting to enjoy the estate's Traditional Silver Service Fine Dining Experience. The seasonal menu favours game and traditional European dishes, with a wine list that includes many exquisite imported and local vintages. Whether you choose a lovely, local, Bogong Estate pinot noir, or a magnificent, rare Romanee-Conti Grand Cru from the Cote-D'Or, it's served in antique Irish or handcrafted Austrian sommelier crystal. Chalet guests have the option of having meals brought to them to enjoy in the privacy of their chalet. All meals are prepared on the premises from fresh ingredients.
In similar fashion, breakfasts can be taken as a hamper of gourmet provisions or a wonderful, fully cooked, country style feast.
All three dwellings enjoy fresh towels each morning with French soaps and toiletries.
Additional services that can be supplied by appointment include private masseur, beautician, and personal trainer. Even a Butler Service can be provided (for the Villa).

Description of Rooms/Units:
Birches Spa Chalets:
The spacious chalets are designed for couples (although one can sleep four if necessary). The bedroom has a queen size bed with fine linens, goose down doonas and sumptuous towels. The bathroom has a luxurious two person spa and a large separate shower with endless hot water. Hair dryer, French soap and toiletries are supplied.
The living area has double glazed French doors opening onto a large sheltered balcony framing the breathtaking alpine views. The living area is equipped with soft mood lighting, reverse cycle air conditioning, LCD television, DVD & CD players with DVDs and magazines to browse. For outdoor living there is a barbecue, table and chairs and a hammock. Kitchen facilities comprise microwave, hot plates, fridge, electric fry pan, toaster, kettle and coffee plunger with daily fresh roasted ground coffee.
Stirling Spa Villa:
The Villa is available for one couple on their own, or a party of up to six guests travelling together. The views are of Mt Bogong directly opposite, towering over the valley where the alpine township of Mt Beauty nestles.
There are two bedrooms with queen size beds and one with two single beds. The central bathroom has a double spa and a large shower. Luxury bedding, linen, towels and toiletries are all provided. There is a formal lounge and dining room furnished with elegant European antiques, original paintings and an open fire. The large picture windows throughout are dressed in traditional curtains and fine lace with block out blinds behind.
The breakfast/sun room adjoins the large kitchen which is equipped to please a chef. The house has floor heating, air conditioning, LCD television, DVD & CD players and an internet port. A long sheltered verandah eases across the front of the villa. Outdoor facilities include a barbecue, table, chairs and hammock. |
