Property Setting: In the heart of the Dandenong Ranges, two of the cottages are located on a quiet mountain road between the Upper Olinda Village and the Lower Olinda Village (3 minutes walk to either). The third cottage is located between Olinda and Sassafras.

Two perfect, private, self-contained, romantic cottages in a rainforest garden. Three to four minutes walk to 12 restaurants, village shops and galleries. Property Description:
Over the bridge and through the delightful lush gardens, Candlelight Cottage (c1890) is a beautifully restored original 'hills cottage' offering leadlight windows, timber and brick floors - warm and cosy with central heating in addition to a genuine open fire in the lounge/dining room. The bathroom has a separate shower and a large corner spa that overlooks the private garden, while overhead a glass ceiling reveals the sky.
A beautiful private garden with a waterfall and pond is found at the rear of this cottage.

Cottage in the Village (c2004) is an elegant period-style cottage designed with an open plan interior. The lounge area features brick floors with stone edge detailing, an open fire, cathedral ceiling and a charming bay window. The split-level floorplan flows through to the bedroom, down two handmade timber steps. The bedroom has polished timber floors, an antique iron bed, a double spa, and French doors opening onto a private walled courtyard. The ensuite features a double shower.

The romantic, period charm of these two cottages is enhanced with antiques and details such as colonial light fittings and fretwork.

Cottage in the Forest (c1920) is set on a one acre property somewhere between Olinda and Sassafras. This weatherboard cottage has a simple, understated appearance that defers to its natural forest surroundings of tall tree ferns and towering trees. Likewise inside, the bed faces a massive window to the forest. The 'bedroom' is partitioned from the living room by a bookcase/wall and interior features lots of windows and an open fire. The ensuite has a corner spa also with a forest outlook.

Special Features:
Candlelight Cuisine is a choice of delicious meals made by a local restaurant and left in the freezer of your cottage - often an ideal way to settle in on the first night.
A selection of wine, at moderate prices, is provided in the cottage.
Local beauty therapists and masseurs are available by appointment.

Description of Rooms/Units:

Candlelight Cottage offers a more traditional cottage floor plan with two bedrooms, although it is ideal for one couple to enjoy on their own. The main bedroom has a queen size bed while the second bedroom has a double bed. The bathroom has a corner spa and a separate shower. Authentic period features include an early Kooka gas stove in the kitchen.

Cottage in the Village reproduces much of the heritage character in the materials and finishes used, while it has the appeal of studio living such as an open plan bedroom, with a queen size bed and a corner spa in the same room.

Cottage in the Forest (pictured right) is also open plan and has a king size bed (convertible to two singles). If required, a quality foldaway bed is available for a third person.

All the cottages are similarly appointed including; open log fire, double spa, separate shower, high quality linen, towels, bathrobes and toiletries. They are equipped with reverse cycle heating and air-conditioning, television, video, DVD and CD player, with a selection of movies, CDs, books and magazines. Kitchen facilities include microwave, fridge, espresso coffee maker, stocked with fresh ground coffee and loose-leaf teas. Cottage in the Forest has a full scale kitchen with modern cooktop and oven. Candlelight Cottage has a laundry for guest convenience during longer stays.

Breakfast: Full breakfast provisions are included. For special occasions, and in conjunction with some packages, a cooked breakfast can be prepared by your host and brought to the cottage at a pre-arranged time (up to 10am).

Dining Options: A wide variety of quality restaurants are within a few minutes walk or drive, including modern cuisine, ethnic fare, and traditional 'comfort food' restaurants. Alternatively, a simple in-cottage dining menu is available.

Deposit: 50% to secure booking

Cancellation Terms: More than 14 days' notice - deposit refunded less a cancellation fee of $50.
14 days' notice or less - refunds (less the cancellation fee) are only available if the cottage is re-let.
