Property Description: Warburton is one of the most picturesque village towns of the upper Yarra Valley, and Charnwood Cottages has been built in the traditional guesthouse style architecture of the hills. The free-standing timber cottages are painted cream and white with the classic Australian red iron roof and dormer window for extra light. The cottages face the river and each has a broad covered verandah with chairs to sit and absorb the scene. Entry to the cottages is at the rear amidst pretty, landscaped gardens.
The two cottages share a similar internal layout with the same luxurious features, however, the saying 'don't judge a book by its cover' is very apt in this case. The interiors are boldly romantic. Savannah's Cottage has a boudoir quality with deep claret walls and dazzling white bed linen on a wrought iron bed. Above the bed hovers a canopy of sheer, silvery fabrics. The oval spa enjoys a prominent corner of the main room. Ella's Cottage is a little less dramatic with a scheme of rich blues and oranges and a four poster bed with turned wood posts. The floors are a combination of tiled wet areas and polished timber with rugs.
The third cottage has three queen size bedrooms and suits up to three couples or a family. Jessica's Cottage is a genuine heritage house built over 100 years ago with many elegant architectural features distinguishing the building. It has been restored and renovated to a high standard of luxury and furnished with sensitivity and style. All the bedrooms are positively charming, but one has the distinction of being an attic room. Groups of friends will appreciate the facilities of two dining areas, formal and casual, a superbly equipped kitchen and let's not forget the six-person outdoor spa.
