	City Retreat is one of the very few available private houses on the city's doorstep. It features all the comforts of luxury accommodation, but most appealing is the welcoming sense of home and neighbourhood that comes with having an entire house to yourself - not just an apartment - especially for stays of more than a few days. City Retreat's location in a lovely, quiet, residential street is only moments away from the neighbourhood's fashionably funky Brunswick Street shops and restaurants. Walk or board a tram and within minutes you are in the heart of the city. Due to Its many attributes, City Retreat is an extremely popular choice for visitors to Melbourne, so it's a good idea to book well in advance to avoid missing out.

Property Description:
The home is a double-fronted terrace house circa 1880, located on one of North Fitzroy's loveliest tree lined streets. The heritage features can be seen in the wrought iron fence, the bullnose verandah, and the rustic Hawthorn brick facade. Either side of the central hallway at the front are the spacious bedrooms with large windows onto the verandah. Timber venetians provide control over daylight and privacy. One of the bedrooms has a dramatic dark ceiling and a dark contemporary style bed. The spa bathroom can be accessed direct from this bedroom or from the hallway.

The rear half of the home is one large full-width space that incorporates a lounge area which is filled with light from a clerestory window, a dining area with French doors to the rear courtyard, and an open kitchen also overlooking the courtyard. Polished timber floors, timber kitchen benches, a timber lined ceiling overhead and a rustic finish timber dining table give the space plenty of warm, earthy tones. Off-white paintwork provides a light-reflective base that makes a perfect foil for the vibrant artworks featured throughout the home.

The rear courtyard provides a pleasant sun trap during the day and somewhere to enjoy alfresco dining in good weather.

Both bedrooms have queen size beds. The second bedroom also has a double sofa bed. Linen is provided. The home's bathroom contains a large corner spa and a separate shower.

The light and spacious open plan living area has a large comfy sofa and a big flat screen LCD television, DVD and CD players, and split system heating/ air-conditioning.

The modern kitchen has cooking facilities, large fridge, dishwasher, even an espresso machine. The central island bench incorporates a breakfast bar with stools, while the dining suite can seat six comfortably.

The rear courtyard has a barbecue and a large outdoor table setting.

The home is also equipped with a washing machine and dryer.

Dining Options: The café culture scene, for which Melbourne is famous, is very much in evidence in nearby Brunswick St - Fitzroy, Lygon St - Carlton and the City, where incredibly diverse cuisines can be found.
