Clare House is a traditional B&B with a twist. You don't have to lift a finger… just relax and enjoy the service and the charming ambience of this beautiful country house.

Property Description:
Set on almost an acre, the c1856 house is set well back from the street even though street noise is hardly a problem in this small rural town. A gravel carriageway circles the rose garden, passing the front steps to the verandah. Guests love sitting on the verandah, by day overlooking the massed roses and the central, tiered fountain and in the evening star-gazing to the heavens.

The tuck pointed brickwork, wide slate covered verandahs and upturned verandah roof are characteristic of the simpler style of Victorian, red brick homesteads. There are plenty of classic Victorian details inside including, large rooms with high ceilings, period fireplaces, Baltic pine floor boards and pressed metal panels.

There are three beautiful guest bedrooms with ensuites (further details below). The large, elegant dining room is cool and inviting in summer while in winter the log fire burns cosily in the Victorian fireplace to accompany the heart warming breakfast. The library/music room is another sanctuary for guests to enjoy as an alternative to the open air verandah.

The rooms are decorated in an eclectic but harmonious style that combines grand and rustic Australian antiques, items of Asian origin and French provincial style. In season you can also expect the house to be filled with the vision and scent of roses from the garden.

Special Features:
A Clare House breakfast is something of a culinary feast. The menu changes to take advantage of the best seasonal produce. You may find such choices such as the delicious 'Clare House' Bircher muesli served with vanilla yoghurt and fresh strawberries, a Salmon, Dill and Camembert Frittata served on a bed of rocket or a Vegetarian Terrine served with basil and tomato mayonnaise. Whatever the menu of the day, it will be one to look forward to with mouth watering anticipation.
