Property Description: The seclusion and privacy is immediately apparent as you enter the property and head along the 700 metre driveway, through farmland and native bush, continuing up to the crest of a hill which commands views over Steels Creek and Kinglake National Park beyond. Gardens surround the house, with the acreage in front of the house adjoining parkland below.
From the outside, the house has the look of a modern homestead except for one very prominent detail - the 9 metre stretch of glass along the middle. This is where the dynamic of the house morphs into something quite unexpected and attention-grabbing. The four massive glass doors can slide completely out of view, bringing the outdoors right into the living room. And what a living room it is! This expansive, open plan entertaining area has the distinctive style of an upmarket, contemporary resort, with the white polished tile floor, the plush long lounge, overhead fans, open fire and wall mounted plasma television. The vast space includes an elegant dining zone and a kitchen of amazing proportions and appointments, beautifully designed in blond timber with white stone bench tops. A panoramic picture window above the sink bench top, frames close-up garden scenery and captures rivers of natural light. Not surprisingly, the kitchen has been featured in national press. The largely pale fresh palette of colours is spiked with occasional deep, but muted, colour highlights. The lighting is also carefully designed to enhance atmosphere and mood.
Continuing the luxury lifestyle theme, there are two master bedrooms - one at each end of the house - with bay windows and deluxe ensuites. The floorplan includes two more bedrooms, spa bathroom, sunroom, study and a separate cloakroom/powder room.

Special Features: Coolamon has 41 acres of native flora and fauna to be enjoyed. The property is bordered on three sides by vineyards, and is home to a plethora of native wildlife including kangaroos, wallabies, wombats and echidnas. Deer and emus have also been sighted.

Description of Rooms/Units: The house has two master bedrooms with double beds of different styles, with complementary bedside tables and lamps. Both have bay windows on to the front verandah. One also has French doors to the side garden. Both have lavish ensuites with twin hand basins and frameless glass showers. One has the extra feature of a corner spa. The third bedroom is a double and the fourth has twin beds. These rooms are served by an adjacent bathroom with large spa bath. All beds have electric blankets and high quality linen and towels are supplied.
A massive L-shaped modular lounge suite occupies the centre of the living area. On the wall a 50" plasma television sits well above the glass-fronted wood fire. In the opposite corner is a bar area. The dining table seats eight with ample elbow room. Entertainment equipment includes a DVD player and a Nakamichi sound system. Every room in the house benefits from zoned heating and cooling.
The kitchen comprises an extraordinary array of appliances including an induction hob, two Miele ovens, a microwave oven, two integrated fridge/freezers, icemaker, two dishwashers and two clothes washer/dryers. Service areas include a large breakfast bar/island bench and a full scullery. There is an excellent supply of kitchen and dinner ware.
For relaxing outside on the lawn there are sun lounges and outdoor chairs and tables. Play equipment is provided in the garden for young guests, and a cot and high chair are available for inside. |
