Property Description: The western red cedar cottage is a Storybook design that perfectly suits the romantic forest atmosphere that draws people to hideaway in the Dandenong Ranges. There is a small sign, at the bottom of the steps to the front door, proclaiming the name of the cottage, "Love in the Mist", adding another embellishment to this appealing picture. The cottage may well be shrouded in mist at certain times of the year, but it is certainly cocooned year round in a peaceful country garden of trees and ferns, in a corner of this one acre property. The surroundings include a walking track that follows a meandering creek for many kilometres through tranquil rain forest.
The cottage has a host of charming architectural elements; an old style verandah, gables with finials, feature stone work and a loft bedroom. Multi-paned windows, various loft windows, and the cosy box window around the sofa in the living room, all frame lovely garden views. The cosy interior features plenty of warm timber panelling, wooden beams that trace the steep ceiling angles, and a delightful wood burner on a stone hearth.
