Property Description:
The cottages are set well apart amidst 2½ acres of rainforest gardens. A permanent stream runs past each cottage and there's a trout filled dam. And the real treat - three of the cottages each have a private outdoor heated spa pool.

The cottages are full of character, built to resemble pioneer cottages. Inside and out they feature knotty Cyprus timber and stone. The rooms feature a cosy fire, by the bed, or as part of a lounge area. But in every case the bed takes pride of place and is beautifully clothed in brocades or white lace and festooned with romantic drapery to suit the particular theme of the cottage.

The current owner has introduced fresh influences to the ambiance of these well known cottages. Each interior reflects a different theme - a faraway place or time - with exotic and eclectic ornaments, pieces of furniture, ornate mirrors and other surprising details. Themes vary from the lush tropics of Bali, mysterious Egypt, a traditional romantic setting and, perhaps the most intriguing of all, a "Venetian Music Room".

Forget Me Not Cottages can offer a range of personal pampering therapies in the privacy of your cottage. Massages and aromatherapy are available from qualified in house therapists through individual bookings or as part of one of several Accommodation & Indulgence Packages. There are even treatments with a Venetian (Caffe Latte Body Polish) or Egyptian (Mud Wrap) theme.

Description of Rooms/Units:

Mondo's Venetian Music Room, the cottage pictured below with a wrap around verandah, is the largest of the self contained cottages. It is set on the lower slopes of the property well away from other buildings, under a canopy of tall trees with an understorey of ferns. Inside is a stone hearth with a wood fire and a lounge suite in the Venetian theme. The king size bed has a canopy of red sheer drapes. Its outdoor spa pool is under cover of the verandah. The bathroom has a claw foot bath and pedestal basin. The full kitchen includes a dishwasher. Musical instruments and beautiful Venetian objects and furniture create its unique atmosphere. Smokey's Romantic Love Affair Room has walls that combine beautiful natural stone work with the knotty cypress pine. It has a traditional European style in the deep rich patterned fabric of couch, Austrian blinds and valance with contrasting pure white bed cover and lace canopy over the head of the queen size bed. A well equipped kitchenette, charming pot belly wood fire and an ensuite with shower complete the interior. The outdoor heated spa pool is set in a slate-paved, garden terrace beside the cottage. Emma's Balinese Boudoir has an outdoor heated spa pool set in a fenced garden deck, shaded from the late afternoon sun by a graceful weeping willow. Inside is a pot belly wood fire, leather sofa, kitchenette and ensuite with shower. The walls are the same combination of stone and timber as Smokey's Cottage. The queen size bed has an Indonesian design fabric throw, and soft green sheer drapes form a canopy overhead. Photos of bold tropical flowers and foliage adorn the walls. Beau's Egyptian Abode is a self contained studio apartment under the main residence roofline, but with its own separate access. The private courtyard outside has a charming waterfall. Inside it has a queen size bed, kitchenette, a comfortable sofa in front of a built in gas log fire. Although it has no outdoor spa pool, the large ensuite has a two person corner spa bath with a shower overhead. The apartment has many Egyptian theme decorations. All cottages have television, DVD, CD player and reverse cycle cooling/heating.

Breakfast: Gourmet breakfast provisions supplied in your cottage include a selection of cereals, juices, eggs, local bacon, hashbrowns, yoghurt, jams, spreads, mini croissants, fruit loaf, bread, teas, plunger coffee and hot chocolate.

Dining Options: Dine out at any of several nearby restaurants, hotels or wineries. You can also order a picnic or barbecue hamper from your host. The largest cottage has a fully equipped kitchen and all have cooking facilities.
