Great Ocean Road from Teddys Lookout at Lorne

A guide to self-contained cottages and bed & breakfast accommodation, in and around the seaside resort of Lorne.

Along the Great Ocean Road just over 2 hours drive from Melbourne, you will find the Victoria's most well known and much loved coastal resort town of Lorne.

Although it's not the quiet seaside village destination of 50 years ago, development has brought with it many good eating spots and plenty of great accommodation. It can get incredibly busy in the Summer holidays, but the simple solution is to avoid January or be sure to book a cottage in a quiet setting on the outskirts of Lorne.

The beach is wide and long, perfect to try your hand at surfing. The surrounding forest of the Otway Ranges and Lorne Angahook State Park beckon with delightful bush walks and beautiful waterfalls. Join the fisherman on the pier. Cruise the shops and linger over a Latte at one of the cafes. Be sure to stay long enough to experience all there is to do here.
