When style and convenience matter Hawkesburn Apartment (4 STAR rating AAATourism) offers this and more. Discerning visitors to Melbourne, be it for business or pleasure, will appreciate the location as much as the stunning minimalist, contemporary design. The space is perfect for a couple or a solo traveller - with or without a car - for a few days or weeks.

A Melbourne city tram runs past the street, or stroll to the train station for a three-stop trip to the city centre.

Property Description:
This ultra contemporary, architect designed apartment has three storeys. The ground level has the entry, a garage and laundry. A stairwell leads up into the first floor living zone which is flooded with northern light through the massive glass pivot doors to the balcony terrace, where a shade sale offers summer sun protection. The living area is open plan with a sleek galley kitchen built along the back wall. An industrial look steel staircase, which ascends to the top floor bedroom zone, creates a powerful, visual design element against the living room wall. Certain exposed concrete surfaces provide further dramatic effect, juxtaposed with the smooth surfaces of the main plaster walls, the polished timber floor and the stainless steel and laminate of the kitchen. Soft white leather lounge furniture creates yet another textural contrast. The décor is appropriately minimalist and tasteful. Selected antiques, such as the Oriental chest, are the unfussy kind that work in well with the other extremely modern furnishings.

The balcony is quite suitable for al fresco dining, with a durable timber and metal outdoor dining setting, as well as built in seating and raised planters that form part of the balcony architecture.

Special Features:
Hawkesburn Village is one of Melbourne's fine food spots. This small strip of shops has a rare concentration of diverse gourmet food retailers, including a highly regarded butcher, green grocer, as well as a fish supplier, delicatessens, bakeries, patisseries, pasta maker, boutique supermarket, takeaway foods and restaurants. And anything you can't source in the Village is almost certainly available at Prahran Market one block down the road.
Also in the neighbourhood, Chapel Street, Prahran is well known for its funky bars, numerous cafés and trendy fashion shops.
