Le Pavillon offers self-contained accommodation in le style Provençale. While the French countryside and its Gites (holiday cottages) are a long way from Victoria, Le Pavillon recreates a little piece of Provence less than an hour and a half from Melbourne.
Charmingly unique, Le Pavillon holds great appeal for those who value craftsmanship and provincial character. Self cater or B&B, romantic weekend for two or a getaway for up to six, the accommodation is suitably versatile and ideally located to explore Mornington Peninsula's best features. |

Property Description: Set within a garden orchard, this romantic mudbrick and stone cottage was conceived after the Gites de France. It was purpose built some ten years ago, with a passion for timeless architecture and the qualities of natural materials. Respect for craftsmanship is apparent in such details as wrought iron handmade lights, the antique cast iron staircase, handmade tiles and Krokalia in the courtyard. A superbly forged iron gate and courtyard sculpture portray little known Australian subjects.
In fact, many of the rustic French influences have been interpreted with distinctly Australian materials, adding to the unique identity of the cottage. Rough hewn, local granite lines the internal turret. Iron bark poles and other Victorian timbers feature throughout. The floor of polished timber blocks, inspired by El Greco's Toledo House, here showcases beautiful red gum.
The two-storey cottage overlooks a kitchen garden. North light floods into the open plan living area, which features a large 'Morso' wood burning heater. French doors lead to a private courtyard with outdoor furniture. The cottage is appropriately furnished with timeless country timber, leather and cane furniture.
