Property Description:
From the main road the entrance to The Cascades is shared with Fern Gully Lodge. The drive to The Cascades rises up into the forest to find the cottages surrounded by glorious nature. First, The Ferns Cottage stands on a sloping site commanding a 180° panorama of tall trees dipping away into fern gullies. A little further up, Silverbrook Cottage nestles into a cosy position overlooking a landscape of fern-lined ponds and tumbling water. In other pockets of the forest two more cottages can be found, Dreamwood and Treetops.

All the cottages are white painted weatherboard with large verandahs, and separate balconies off most bedroom areas. Inside the cottages have an open floor plan encompassing a living and kitchen area on one level with polished floor boards, while the sleeping area featuring a king size bed is elevated. French doors and picture windows frame vistas in every direction including from the head of the bed. Cathedral ceilings give height and space and the décor is sophisticated yet casual.

Description of Rooms/Units:

The Ferns Cottage has a large ensuite with a double shower at one end, twin vanity basins and an elevated spa surrounded, on three sides, by windows to the forest.

Silverbrook Cottage (pictured below) also has a large ensuite with a double shower. The spa is located separately in a window bay within the main room of the cottage, overlooking the floodlit, cascading watercourse outside.

Dreamwood Cottage (pictured above) has the spa located in a bay window beside the bed, with forest all round.

Treetops Cottage (pictured right) has a large square shaped spa designed for two side by side. A full height window provides a panorama of ferns outside. In this cottage the sleeping area and spa is up a number of stairs from the living area. French provincial style furniture gives this cottage an even more individual look.

All cottages feature king size bed, luxurious ensuite, wood fire, plush sofa, reverse cycle remote control air conditioning, flat screen television, DVD and CD player with a selection of movies and CDs. Fluffy towels and bath sheets, quality toiletries and luxury bed linen have been selected to please.

Each cottage has a gourmet kitchen area with a fridge, microwave, full size stove/ oven, compact dishwasher and a dining table for two. There is also a compact electric barbecue outside on the deck.

Breakfast: Provisions for a light breakfast are included, or you can order the $25 Gourmet breakfast hamper which includes eggs, bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes, pancake mix, maple syrup, fresh fruit, yoghurt and more.

Dining Options: The local area offers casual dining at cafés and hotels through to fine dining at award winning restaurants. Or make use of your cottage barbecue and kitchen facilities to dine in.
