Property Description: This rural property occupies the top of the hill on Ranters Gully Road with uninterrupted views to surrounding hillsides and beyond. It's a peaceful, bush landscape now but in the heady gold rush days the area was recognised as one of the world's richest alluvial goldfields, where gold nuggets were found within 3-4 feet of the surface. Now the landholders are farmers and residents who value the bush for its inherent beauty and tranquillity.
The resident owners of Ranters View have decided to share their slice of Castlemaine country, offering a separate apartment for guests who fancy sampling the ‘tree-change' life. The fully self-contained unit is encapsulated in an old farm outbuilding on its own. Apart from the recycled character evident in the floorboards of the living area, the space and finishes are sleek and contemporary. The simple, uncluttered décor relies on white as the base colour with contrasting elements in deep grey through to black.
In keeping with modern design priorities, the living area spills out onto a large covered terrace. The expanse of glass between, ensures the living area is filled with natural light and, more importantly, filled with the view.

Special Features: Ranters View has a chemical and pesticide-free fruit & vegetable garden. Guests are invited to share the seasonal produce from the garden, to complement meals during their stay.

Description of Rooms/Units:
The apartment has one bedroom, furnished with a queen size bed and a compact wardrobe. French doors from the bedroom open onto a small outdoor sitting area. All linen is provided. The bathroom is equipped with a stylish vanity unit, shower and toilet.
The lounge/dining room is furnished with an extra large chaise-couch, coffee table, wall unit, square dining table and chairs, and equipped with television, DVD and CD players, as well as reverse cycle heating and cooling. The shelves are stocked with a selection of books, music and movies for guests' use. The room opens onto the covered terrace where there is a large outdoor dining setting. A gas barbecue is available on request.
The kitchen is equipped with a full size fridge, stainless steel cooktop, oven, microwave and other small appliances. All the usual pans, utensils, crockery, cutlery and glassware are provided. |
