	At the foot of the Victorian Alps, the evergreen Kancoona Valley is peacefully secluded north of Bright on the alternate route from Myrtleford to Mt Beauty and the snowfields. Any season - winter, summer, spring or autumn - is perfect for a break in this gorgeous and plentiful region. Then again Running Creek Castle alone would be reason enough to make Kancoona your destination. Its amazing construction, intricate character and intriguing old world ambience will have you spellbound.

Property Description:
Victoria is not exactly known for its castles, so you are stepping into the extraordinary when you arrive at this property. Not so very long ago, in the scheme of things, there was a small mountain house on this very site, owned by a builder with a insatiable enthusiasm for the grand architecture and craftsmanship of a by-gone era. Garry Morgan, Master Builder, has spent some 20 years collecting and integrating historical materials and complete elements into an ambitious and fascinating architectural masterpiece that can aptly be designated as a castle. Winning the MBA Builder of the Year award for North East Victoria in 2007 is testament to the quality and complexity of the building.

The grounds of "The Castle" have also evolved over time to create a beautiful garden setting with appropriate scale and formality to complement the magnificent building. There are many wonderful nooks, clipped hedges, fountains and points of interest to explore. A large lake reflects the surrounding mountain-scape that also befits the grandeur of the property.

Within "The Castle" building there are two private apartment-style guest suites with individual, external entrances. These are simply and comfortably, furnished and contain a mezzanine bedroom.

Also on the property is a three-bedroom timber cabin in a picturesque position with private frontage to Running Creek. The cabin is well suited to families.

Special Features:
Castle guests are welcome to enjoy the stunning mountain views from the castle turret and or relax on the balcony with a glass of wine.
Bird lovers can get up close and personal with Maya the resident Macaw, in the large aviary.

Recreational Facilities:
The property has a solar heated, in ground, salt water swimming pool, large outdoor spa bath, squash court, and a small gym below the turret.
For children there is a playground with swings, slides and multistorey play equipment.
The creek provides recreation for the fisherman.

Description of Rooms/Units:

Castle Suites (pictured right)
There is private access to each suite via respective ground level entries. Both suites have their main living area, kitchen and bathroom on the first floor. A beautiful bay window frames the gorgeous view. One suite overlooks the lake at the front of the property while the other overlooks lawn and gardens at the rear.

A staircase leads up to a mezzanine bedroom overlooking the lounge below. One suite has a king size bed, the second suite has a queen size bed. If needed, a sofa bed in the lounge transforms into a queen size bed with inner spring mattress. All towels and bed linen are supplied.

The suites have fully equipped kitchens with small fridge, gas cooktop and microwave, breakfast bench and stools. Facilities include gas heating, ceiling fans, CD player and television with Austar. Both suites have access to undercover parking and barbecue areas on the Castle's main balcony and on the decking by the pool.

Cabin
The cabin has three bedrooms, one with queen size bed, one with double bed and the third with three singles (including a bunk bed). The kitchen is fully equipped including large fridge, electric stove and microwave. The lounge adjoins the kitchen and is equipped with a television with Austar. There are gas heating and ceiling fans. The bathroom has a shower and vanity unit. The separate laundry has a washing machine, dryer and chest freezer. All linen and towels are supplied. The cabin also has a single garage.

Meals

Breakfast: The Suites are stocked with breakfast ingredients including cereal, milk, juice, bacon, eggs, tomatoes, parsley, toast, butter, tea and coffee. Cabin guests usually self cater, however, breakfast provisions could be arranged for an extra charge.

Dining Options: For dining out Kancoona Valley Wines is very close by, otherwise, there are many restaurants and eating houses located in Myrtleford, Bright, Mt Beauty and Dederang.

$185 per night per suite, or, $250 inclusive of a large antipasto platter for two and bottle of wine.
Stays of three or more nights - $170 per night.

Cabin
Accommodation for up to 7 persons - $185 per night or $850 per week.
Breakfast option available for $10 per head

Minimum Stay: Two nights on Long Weekends

Deposit: One night's tariff or 50% (whichever is the greater)

Cancellation Terms: 14 days' notice - full refund. Less than 14 days' notice - refunds are subject to the vacancy being refilled by others.
