Property Description: The architect-designed cottage nestles amongst trees on the edge of the lake. It favours clean, simple lines and uses corrugated iron and timber with contemporary stylish flair. Natural bush surrounds the cottage, rather than an elaborate man-made garden. This preserves the special native tranquillity of the setting right to the walls of the house and it means every window of the L-shaped house is a window on the bush.
The interior is sleek and fashionable with retro touches and colour accents. Polished floor boards and the open plan lounge, dining and kitchen provide a very liveable space. A wood fire heater supplies warmth and atmosphere in winter and air conditioning keeps the space cool in summer. French doors from the living area and the bedroom open onto a deck overlooking the lake, while on the other side of the living room is a paved outdoor meals area.
Special Features: The 50 acres of pristine bush surrounding the cottage has been classified as significant remnant, indigenous bush to the Mornington Peninsula. Native orchids, kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas and koalas are some of the indigenous flora and fauna living in this wildlife corridor, which contains important breeding sites. Over 60 species of birds have been recorded to the delight of birdwatchers.
Recreational Facilities: The property offers opportunities for trout fishing in the lake, bushwalking, bird watching, kangaroo and koala spotting.
