Property Description:
The name Ttekceba is wrapped up in the history of the property although it might just as well be a modern intrigue that heralds the exotic qualities of this exceptionally beautiful and unusual retreat. At the heart of the property is a contemporary architect designed villa, with pure straight lines, monotone colours and large areas of glass. In some ways, like a gallery, the building is a stark foil for an explosion of creative interior design and greenery inside and out. The exterior walls virtually disappear within the garden framework. Both house and garden are full of amazing treasures. The villa is furnished with Oriental and European antiques, rustic and ornate pieces, tribal carvings, Chinese screens, all of which complement one another in artful harmony.

The garden is as much a part of the ambience of the villa as its fascinating furnishings. In fact the distinction between inside and outside is intentionally blurred. The bedroom and its in-room ensuite feel open to the garden with floor to ceiling glass separating them from a charming, walled courtyard. The sunken roman bath and shower are set in a bay of glass.

A massive two-way open fireplace divides the lounge and dining areas. The dining room includes a large plant conservatory at one end and walls of windows on either side. On one side of the room there are views of the garden then vast bushland and pristine catchment lakes. On the opposite side, the room merges with an outdoor living area designed around an eco pond and fringed with a wisteria clad pergola.

Special Features:

Ttekceba is a paradise for Garden Lovers with seven acres of beautiful English gardens complemented by far reaching vistas. Veronika will happily take interested guests on a tour and collect a basket of cuttings for avid gardeners to take home. There are courtyards and nooks and terraces, avenues, arbours, copses, sweeping lawns and woodland plantings. A 165 year old pine is listed on the National Trust register. Miniature Shetlands roam free trimming the grass. White peacocks and Chinese geese cruise around looking very ornamental. Native animals and birds are frequent visitors.

Your multi lingual host, Veronika, speaks English, German and Spanish. Veronika is not only well travelled she is a travel writer and is usually in residence in a discrete garden cottage during guest stays.

Description of Rooms/Units:

The villa has only one bedroom with a partially screened ensuite at one end. A television is concealed in an antique Chinese cabinet. The bed is queen size and made up in luxurious linen. Fluffy towels and robes are provided in the ensuite, which has a vanity and a tiled roman bath sunk into the floor in a semi-atrium style space. The bedroom has a wall of glass, without blinds or curtains, beyond which is a totally private, enclosed courtyard, effectively merging the outdoors with the room.

An open doorway leads from the bedroom through to a personal library decorated in an African theme. This room leads back to the living area, past the powder room that can also be accessed from the bedroom via a walk through robe.

The galley style kitchen is equipped with family capacity appliances and kitchenware. The lounge area is a cosy intimate space with a television and an open fire. A second back-to-back open fire faces the very spacious dining area, which includes an indoor garden with a day bed nestled into a corner. Floor heating provides even comfort through cooler months. There are laundry facilities if required.

Off the main courtyard is a sauna and there are many quiet, furnished spots to sit throughout the garden and various courtyards.
