Property Description: Provenance is a term that springs to mind with this extraordinary property conceived in the tradition of the great villas of northern Italy. It not only applies with respect to the ingredients that pass through the restaurant cucina, it points to the remarkable extent of imported contributions to the buildings and gardens. Italian cast iron fountains, classic urns and decorative wrought iron work are complemented by traditional Tuscan garden design with its terraces, low walls, distinctive cypress spires and numerous terracotta planters. The building and landscape architecture feature beautifully crafted stonemasonry and muted, Tuscan pink render.
The central feature of the main building is "The Great Room" which has a massive curved wall with two tiers of windows through which magnificent Mount Buffalo National Park appears, at quite close range, looming beyond the Tuscan style gardens. The restaurant tables, with handmade chairs from The Veneto, are arranged by the windows. Classic leather sofas and arm chairs are parked around the open fire - in fact there are two open fires. A charming terrace just outside beckons in warm weather.
The Deluxe accommodation wing offers views similar to the Great Room from each suite. Italian porcelain, artwork, tapestries, 17th century antiques, marble and handmade furnishings are integral to the luscious interior design. The suites are individually named and styled after a colour, with Cioccolato (Chocolate), the Grande Suite, naturally being the most sumptuous. The Grande Suite and the Deluxe Suites have the added indulgence of spa baths.
The more recent Cabina Suites comprise a set of three suites in a separate building overlooking the garden and the Valley. They share a Jacuzzi on the deck, while inside they are furnished to the same high level as the Deluxe Suites. Lastly, the Standard Villa Rooms are a slightly more modest alternative with pleasant views and beautifully finished interiors.
