Property Description: The Victorian period cottage c1880, was built on Brighton Hill, the highest point in Brighton, at the centre of a large market garden that supplied vegetable produce to Melbourne in years long past. Even today, the house stands on a large allotment, with a beautiful tranquil private garden. The lush garden is made for outdoor leisure time, with a large swimming pool, a hydro-massage spa house, and three outdoor sitting areas, including a pergola covered dining area.
The former cottage has been redesigned and extended to create a large, elegant single storey home, with additional living areas and an annexe with extra bedroom accommodation.
The spacious formal guest lounge/ dining room has high ceilings with crystal chandeliers, a gas log fireplace and a mixture of modern sofas, antique furniture and original artwork. The owners' European flair is very much in evidence in the interior styling of the home.
There is also a casual living room with open fireplace, leather lounges and Foxtel television. This room opens onto the sun shaded, outdoor barbecue and entertainment area. The centre of the home is the open style kitchen, where an early light breakfast can be served for business guests who need to leave early. For guests who have time for relaxing with a book, the library has a few hundred books, on various themes, to browse.

Description of Rooms/Units:
Within the original part of the home there are two guest bedrooms with ducted heating. One has a queen size bed, LCD television with DVD, radio/CD player and reverse cycle air conditioning/ heating. This room has its own small, private courtyard and its own ensuite with bath shower and toilet.
The other room has a "Natures Best" designer double bed, LCD television, DVD, and its own ensuite with a shower and toilet. This room is best suited to single occupancy, or for a short stay (of one or two nights only) for a couple.
Annexe Accommodation
There are two further double bedrooms, with queen size beds in an apartment-style annexe integrated with the house. These bedrooms each have reverse cycle air conditioning, LCD television, DVD and radio/CD player. The annexe has a private bathroom, with a double vanity and a shower, and a separate toilet. Both bedrooms have sliding doors, which open to outdoor paved areas. There is access to a separate butler-style kitchenette with cappuccino coffee & tea facilities and a minibar facility. The annexe is most suitable for 2 to 4 people travelling together. |
