	Windsong is a place that engenders a sense of contentment. Timeless, solid buildings of stone and mudbrick have an old country presence amidst scented roses, colourful gardens and great trees. Guests find the peaceful atmosphere at Windsong is enough to drive away their cares so they can enjoy every minute of their stay - so much so that no one wants to leave this magical place of retreat.

Property Description:
"Windsong" is located where the Dandenong Ranges and the Yarra Valley overlap, where the forests of the hills give way to a patchwork of vineyards that cover much of the Valley. The intimate property has three acres of lovely gardens, where you can wander among 130 roses and as many irises. A group of hundred-year-old Spruce and Oak trees are particular treasures. Spring bulbs and late season perennials renew their colourful display each year. A vegetable garden and a small orchard, which includes antique apple varieties, are clear reminders of productive country living, while the sweeping rural view is something to ponder at quiet length.

As serene as the garden and the view, the buildings reflect the same care and desire to create a tranquil environment in which to retreat. The main residence has beautiful stone walls, while the adjacent building containing The Loft is a pole frame construction, entirely pegged without using nails. The walls are mud brick. Tall, arched windows and thick walls painted white in contrast with exposed, dark, wooden beams give The Loft a very European character. The room has a lovely, quiet atmosphere with a cathedral ceiling and soft carpet underfoot. A corner spa is a feature of the ensuite. From the windows you can look out over the Yarra Valley and some mornings the sky is dotted with hot air balloons drifting across the landscape.

Accommodation is also available in the main house, comprising a cottage-style double bedroom, a sitting room and a dedicated bathroom. The sunny room has a charming old- fashioned ambience.

The Loft
This large upstairs room has a romantic queen size bed at one end and a comfortable lounge area at the other with a couch, antique table and chairs, television and DVD player. There are tea and coffee making facilities with a bar fridge and a microwave. A portable electric hotplate can be supplied if needed.

The ensuite features a double spa.

"Cottage" Bedroom in Main House
The pleasant room has a double bed. The associated sitting room can accommodate a child in a day bed or a port-a-cot. Guests have their own private bathroom, which has an old-style bath with claw & ball feet as well as a separate shower. The host's kitchen is available for tea/coffee making.

Breakfast: A full breakfast is served in the sunroom of the house, with a selection that includes fruit, yoghurt, cereals or porridge, bacon & eggs, tomato, eggs Benedict, herb omelette.

Dining Options: In house dining is available by arrangement - discuss with your host in advance. Local restaurants include Asian, Chinese, Pizzeria, and a vineyard restaurant.
