Property Description:
What's most striking about the three-bedroom retreat is its interior design. The rooms, particularly the large open plan living area, have been approached with a professional eye for creating a contemporary environment with individual character and warmth. There are simple, clean lines, pure textures and a palette of natural tones with sparing accents of vibrant colour. As the name would suggest, the use of wood panelled surfaces is especially rich and dramatic. Timber grains are complemented with neutral walls, wool carpeted or polished concrete floors with persian rugs.

The living area has the all important wood fire and there's a spa in the master ensuite. The kitchen is another exceptional feature of the place, with an espresso machine, a serious stove and plenty of high grade cookware to please an accomplished cook.

On the west side of the dwelling is an open stretch of lawn and a petanque surface that doubles as a barbecue area with a large outdoor dining setting. There's also a separate timber platform deck sited to take in the sunset.

The building sits amidst an established garden of rolling lawns, azaleas, rhododendrons, maples and fruit trees, in turn surrounded by lush temperate mountain forest. Much of the property's 11 acres is natural bush with tracks and occasional clearings and where wombats and lyrebirds can sometimes be seen.

Description of Rooms/Units:

There are three well appointed bedrooms with large windows overlooking the garden. Each has a king size bed, one of which can be reconfigured as twin beds, crisp white linen, doonas, electric blankets and colourful woollen throws. One bedroom has an ensuite with a double spa and a shower. The central bathroom has a bath and a separate shower. Toiletries provided include handmade soaps.

The house is equipped with central heating plus a wood heater, television, DVD and CD players, books and CDs. The kitchen has a family size fridge, six burner stainless steel stove/oven, dishwasher, wega espresso machine, coffee grinder and a wide array of quality saucepans, utensils, crockery, glassware and cutlery for a full house.

Breakfast: Hearty breakfast provisions included. Muesli, yoghurt, pure juice, Jam Lady jams, local smoked bacon, free range eggs, tomatoes, plus home baked bread (delivered fresh in the morning), tea and Innocent Bystander ground coffee.

Dining Options: Casual dining is plentiful in Healesville and the area has several serious foodie options. Woodbox's kitchen makes cooking 'in' a pleasure. Ask in advance about hampers of provisions.

Weekend: $800 to $1000 for two nights for 4 to 6 people. $620 for two nights for one couple (one bedroom).
Midweek: $230 per night or $430 for two nights for one couple (one bedroom).
Extra bedrooms: $100 per bedroom per night

Minimum Stay: Two nights on weekends

Deposit: 50% required to secure booking

Cancellation Terms: Less than 30 days' notice - deposit retained. Less than 7 days' notice - full tariff will be charged. In such cases, refunds will be given if the accommodation is relet to others at equivalent value.
