Jindivick, in West Gippsland, is definitely in the heart of gourmet country promoted under the tourism moniker "the Gourmet Deli Trail". Travelling further east is the major East Gippsland town of Sale beyond which are the well known Gippsland Lakes. Bairnsdale is another substantial country town. From Bairnsdale you can head north into Alpine territory like Omeo or Dargo High Plains, or you can take the coastal route to Lakes Entrance and all the way to Mallacoota before crossing the NSW border.
