On this vast acreage of Delatite Station, there are two cottages that have been redeveloped as secluded guest accommodation.

The neat cream painted, timber cottage, known as Bob's, was built in 1930 for the first full time gardner. Set 100 metres from the river in a large garden shaded by mature elms, the two-bedroom cottage is fresh and modern. There are large windows and glass doors, polished floors and a mix of contemporary and classic elements. The lounge area has wood heater and opens onto a sunny deck with spectacular views of the river and mountains.

The three-bedroom cottage, called Chris's, is among the oldest buildings on the property. It was the single men's quarters. Fully renovated in 1991 the cottage still retains much of its original character such as the old style bathroom with a claw foot bath; the bedrooms are accessed from the verandah, and the country kitchen has a large rustic table beside an open fire. Only 20 metres from the river bank, the kitchen enjoys river views.

Special features

Surrounding the homestead is a significant regional garden of some 5 acres in the English style, featuring a formal rose garden set in a box hedge maze, sweeping lawns, magnificent mature trees and flower borders. Guests are allowed to explore the garden, which is otherwise only open by appointment or on designated Open Garden days.

The Delatite River meanders through the property offering long riverside walks and invigorating swimming.
