AAA Tourism 4 STAR rating

Property Description:
"Little Lake" is a prominent feature on the right as you enter this 200-acre cattle farm. The main driveway runs alongside the lake and continues past the turn off to the cottage, and on through open pasture to the owners' farmhouse. The turn off into the drive leading to Little Lake Cottage follows the edge of the lake. Graceful weeping trees border the drive to the cottage, which can be found nestled on the edge of a patch of bushland that abuts this part of the lake. Cottage and fern gardens intermingle with the bushland in the lakeside setting of the cottage.

The cosy, cedar cottage has a delightful covered verandah along the front which faces the water. The verandah opens out to a sunny deck area at one end of the cottage where the kitchen window captures the sun's rays. The open plan living area takes up most of the floorplan, with the bedroom and spa bathroom making up the balance. The lounge area and bedroom both have full length windows onto the verandah, so they each have views of the lake. The cosy country dining table is positioned in front of a window that frames a pastoral scene.

Antique and recycled furniture, together with the white wooden panelled kitchen and bathroom cabinets, gives the cottage a farmhouse style, that is further embellished with a collection of beautiful 'red geranium' china on display.

Special Features:
The little wooden jetty, boardwalk and series of connecting bridges entice guests to discover the lake's many beautiful angles. The prolific regular birdlife is sometimes augmented with swans and even the occasional pelican. Wooden seats have been stationed around the lake for quietly observing nature or staging a private picnic. At day's end the sunsets reflected in the still surface of the water add another magical dimension to the tranquil setting.
